Role and responsibilities

  1. Chairperson of the Board of Southern Cross Kids Camps Trust shall be the designated leader of KCNZ, presiding at meetings and ceremonies; representing and speaking on behalf of KCNZ in the public forum as KCNZ manages its ministry and service endeavour.
  2. To give leadership to the Board in establishing future directions, monitoring the organisations performance against its Mission Statement, goals, agreed plans and budgets and liaising with the various people of the region.
  3. Promote the vision of KCNZ, and its potential and future direction.
  4. Keep in touch with decisions and events within the organisation and act in a liaison/communication role with the Board.
  5. Chair meetings of the Board.
  6. Develop consensus and team work among Board members and assist them in their task of making clear policy decisions.

Method of Appointment: At the first meeting of the newly elected Board, the Board shall elect a Chairperson.
Length of Appointment: This appointment should be elected each year.
Vacancy: Should the position of chairperson become vacant during the term of office, the Board shall elect a current Board member to undertake the duties until the Board elects a successor.
